Welcome,

My name is Naveen Tariq (She/Her) and I am a Registered Psychotherapist and a Canadian Certified Counsellor. Embarking on the path to healing and personal growth is a profound journey—one that I am deeply honoured to accompany you on. With a passion for changing lives and a belief that the essence of a fulfilling life resides in the richness of our relationships, I am committed to supporting you in navigating life’s challenges with resilience, compassion, and insight.

Hailing from Pakistan, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery and adaptation when I relocated to Montreal, Canada, to pursue my undergraduate studies at McGill University. I had the privilege of completing a bachelor’s degree in finance at McGill University. However, driven by a passion to assist individuals in fostering meaningful transformations, I seized the opportunity to further deepen my understanding of human behavior and psychology. I completed a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, where I honed my skills in providing compassionate, evidence-based therapeutic support.

Throughout my diverse professional journey spanning over a decade, I have experience working in the logistics, human resources, and mental health sectors, serving culturally diverse clients and employees across Karachi, Toronto, Montreal and Chicago. These experiences have equipped me with a profound appreciation for the complexities of the human experience and the importance of cultural sensitivity in fostering genuine connections and holistic healing.

My Approach to Therapy

As a dedicated therapist, I understand that embarking on your mental-health journey requires courage and can often feel overwhelming. My approach is grounded in compassion, warmth, and non-judgment, ensuring that you feel supported every step of the way.

As a client-centred therapist, I offer more than just tools and resources; I provide a safe and empowering space tailored to your unique needs. Together, we’ll explore mind-body techniques to restore balance and rediscover purpose and joy.

My practice utilizes a fusion of mindfulness, self-compassion, and cognitive-behavioural techniques. Mindfulness cultivates awareness and acceptance, while self-compassion nurtures warmth across all aspects of your life. Cognitive and behavioural strategies then facilitate profound changes in thinking and behaviour.

Whether you’re grappling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, or seeking personal growth, we can work collaboratively to help you feel confident and empowered. If you’re seeking a therapeutic journey that honours your individuality and promotes self-discovery and growth, I am here to guide you.
